Learn how to code art and graphics in 3 workshops

Coding Art with Python Turtle with Dee Thrussell

Dee Thrussell, from futureCoders, will lead an interesting workshop series on coding art with Python Turtle.

Turtle is a graphic element of the Python programming language, which is a fun and engaging way to learn code for all ages, and can be used as a good way to naturally transition into more structured text-based programming with Python. This workshop develops coding skills by exploring different methods to create artwork and invites the learner to choose one of these methods to develop into a final piece.

They will be taught how to freehand draw, to draw using co-ordinates and how to create colourful shapes that can be controlled and developed using programming loops to build and develop their art.

The artwork will be developed during the Electric Medway digital arts festival and shown as part of the programme (via an app) on Saturday 5 September.

There are 12 places available for people in the community who can commit to the 3 workshops.

The workshops will take place online via Zoom and will be on the following dates:

Tuesday 1 September – 10.30am – 12pm

Tuesday 1 September – 1pm – 2.30pm

Wednesday 2 September – 10.30am – 12pm

Details of the Zoom link will be emailed to you before the first workshop.
