A Tale Of A Few Cities is a cross-country project, forging collaborations between artists and writers in the North and South of the UK. The online text-art exhibition ‘An Assemblance of Judicious Heretics’ created by lead partner Wordsmithery, is supported by The Sunderland Creative Writing Festival and the Sunderland Indie.
Inspired by Charles Dickens’ A Tale Of Two Cities; writers in the South and North working in isolation created unique works on a theme, at the same time. Then artists in the opposite part of the country, working in isolation, created unique works based on the writers’ work, at the same time. The finished exhibition displayed a number of common themes; synchronous to the times we are living in; COVID-19, environmental worries, and general future shock.Rate this
