Mesmerising light and sound installation built by Lucid Creates.
Shoppers in The Pentagon! Come and experience EXPONENTIAL, the mesmerising light and sound installation by Lucid Creates. Drop in at any time during opening hours to see this stunning piece of digital art. EXPONENTIAL is with Electric Medway for a 3-week run between 17 August – 5 September, previewed a couple of days before the festival and extended for a week afterwards. Don’t miss it!
Made by hand by Chris Carr and Helen Swan, the creative partnership behind Lucid Creates in Kent, the piece suspends a seemingly-floating, kaleidoscopic mirrored cube. Around and through the piece travels endlessly moving patterns of light, triggered by an hour-long ambient soundtrack. As the lights move, the illusions created by the double sided mirrors in the central cube create reflections of the audience which unexpectedly appear and disappear, placing them in the centre of the confusion of lights. EXPONENTIAL is one of a series of audiovisual light installations by Lucid Creates exploring the relationship between individual and communal responsibility upon social and climate change.
Did you know? Lucid Creates were behind the TOGETHER installation at the Chatham Waterfront last year, and the CROSSROADS artwork at Medway Light Nights in February.
