A literary exploration of Luton’s wild flowers
Anne Pratt was a Victorian botanical artist born in Strood. Her father worked as a grocer on the High Street in Chatham. Her sister lived in Luton, Chatham, where Anne got married. Anne wrote a guide to identifying wild flowers; ‘Haunts of the Wild Flowers’ in 1863. Medway has changed completely since Anne knew it, but Wordsmithery invites you to come with us as we follow in Anne’s footsteps looking for Luton’s urban wild flowers (aka weeds!).
The work features a video guide to identifying wild flowers with downloadable pdf Guide to the Top 10 Medway Wild Flowers.Download Guide
